Editing homeworks

I am not quite sure why this isn’t currently a feature, perhaps it’s too hard to implement or something. Being able to edit homeworks would allow me and many other users to fix mistakes that may not have been spotted before submission. Of course, as soon as one person starts grading, the edit function should be locked. If this feature cannot be added, would it be possible to receive an explanation why? Quite curious.

Maybe for any users (maybe an unofficial site job?) who have been on the site for at least 6 months can be mentors to newer members who have just signed up and help them go through the basics of the site? like : 1 Homework (Required) 1 Topic (Required) At least grading 1 Homework (Required) Let them know what jobs are student staff/ grad staff jobs available if they are interested/ How to level up (Optional)

Request for Additional VIP Payment Methods (E-wallets)

I would love to subscribe to the VIP membership on the website, but I noticed that the current payment options are limited to bank transfers/cards(???) Is it possible to add support for e-wallets in the future? Having an e-wallet option would make the checkout process much easier and faster for international users who prefer not to use direct bank payments. Thank you for considering this suggestion!

Ban AI in Wall Posts

This applies to written AI, as recently I have seen instances where wall posts have been written with AI and passed on to happy recipients as “gifts” with said recipients not aware that these hard crafted works of literature are not actually from their friends but from ChatGPT. Upon realizing this, this can sow distrust as well. Also, wall posts often have a main pinned that often gives limited information about their character, similar to a PT in that respect. Given that PTs are not allowed to use AI, then I believe that wall posts in a written aspect should not have AI either.

I think someone really needs to look into this. Today I had the question, “Who is Harry Potter’s Godfather?” Think we all know the answer to that. So, of course I typed in the correct answer, and it tells me it’s wrong. I checked my spelling, thinking that might have triggered the wrong answer, but my spelling was correct. This is NOT the first time this has happened. It’s been numerous times. I’d have the correct answer, and it tells me I got it wrong, when I know perfectly well, I did not have it wrong.

Skip homework when grading

I think that it would be very nice to be able to “skip” to the next homework in the grading pile. It could still be in the pile, but just pop up again in a later stage. In addition, it would be nice to have like two options; “Remove from pile” and “Skip for now”. The first one could be removed completely from your personal pile (like all the homework in courses you are not enrolled in). This fits perfectly for homework from alts, that you probably don’t want to grade at all (I wouldn’t want to, at least). The “skip for now” (or a better name xD) could be useful for when you have gotten like 5 assignments in a row from the same lesson, and just want some variation. Then, it can be put later in the pile and you get it eventually again, if it hasn’t been graded already. This would be very useful for everyone with alts that doesn’t want to grade their own homework. For me, not having this function means that I can’t grade as much as I would like because I keep getting my own homework (which I don’t want to grade). I love grading, but it’s very frustration when you get your own homework when there are a lot of others in the pile.

Old lesson archive

Having been on these sites since the dawn of time, there is one thing I have always found a little sad both as a teacher and a student. When a new teacher steps in, they will (as they should) replace the lessons, this, however, means that old lessons that some may have loved deeply or put a lot of work into get lost forever, never to be seen again. I would therefore love an archive of some sort (or even just put it as library books if that makes the most sense code-wise) where all past lessons get put in. This would of course require some extra work, but when the HM is looking through and approving lessons anyway, they would simply add the code to a separate list for safekeeping, and then once the teacher stops, or eventually makes new ones, these could be put into an archive somewhere. Personally, I would love to hand out a little sugar mouse or something to people who bothered going back and watching my old lessons and do them as well. Of course, they could not get house points for it like this, but for some, like me, it is about the story far more than the points. This would also give an opportunity for former students to revisit lessons from their actual time and get more of a feel for those lessons they missed back then.

New Status Idea: Foreign Exchange Student/Foreign Education

New Status Idea: Foreign Exchange Student/Foreign Education I don’t have an exact name for it; though I see this occasionally in backstories: Some writers have their characters previously attend another school like Durmstrang, Ilvermorny, or Beauxbatons. This, naturally, would follow the idea of Foreign Exchange Students at Hogwarts, which has been mentioned in Harry Potter lore and games. A foreign exhange student would not mean a student for another country who enrolled in Hogwarts and goes back home every summer. It refers to a student who holds allegiance to another school, has attended another school, and is more or less studying for a period of time at Hogwarts. Description: With this status, the user will be allowed to claim that their student attends/attended another wizarding school, though they will study at Hogwarts for their duration of the school year. A graduate with this status will be allowed to claim that they spent their entire tutelage at another Wizarding School. Normal Student Profile Card Hover: Gender: Male Age: 11 Year: 1 House: Slytherin Ilvermorny Foreign Exchange Student Profile Card Hover: Gender: Male Age: 11 Year: 1 House: Wampus Cat Foreign Exchange Student Other Foreign Exchange Student Profile Card Hover: Gender: Male Age: 11 Year: 1 School: Mahoutokoro Foreign Exchange Student For Adults, it would be Foreign Education as the status, instead of Foreign Education Student. Unlike other statuses, this one can be stacked on top of any other status, Metamorphmagus, Animagus, Half-Giant, etc, and is considered a passive status, allowing for a maximum of three statuses (species/career, item, and passive). Example: Gender: Female Age: 44 Year: Graduated School: Durmstrang Foreign Education Werewolf Owner of a Phoenix Of course, this can also simply be a Graduate only status, though I find that there is a lot more joy for some when they get to write the confusion and excitement of attending Hogwarts from a foreigner’s perspective Drawbacks: At Uagadou, students typically master self-transfiguration by 14. This would, of course, not be allowed to be roleplayed, and they would have to have the status of an Animagus to do so. However, if a student has already bought the animagus status and also is a student from Uagadou, this would be allowed. Graduates of Beauxbatons would be allowed to claim they have taken classes in Alchemy and have some familiarity, though they would not be allowed to claim to be Alchemists without the status. Realistically must stick to the ethnicity of the country that they are an exchange student from, unless canon lore says otherwise (Durmstrang accepts students from other countries). EX: Given that Uagadou is in Africa, it would not be realistic to be a Korean character who was born in Korea to claim to have been visited through a dream message to attend. Durmstrang students would likely not be muggle-born. Unique School Benefits: Uagadou: Student: Allowed

Auto-follow Topic if Replying to Topic

I often have the habit of forgetting to follow the topic after replying to it. I believe that automatically, the creator of the topic follows the topic. I would like this to apply to people who reply to the topic as well, and to have there be a switch under User Settings that allows this to be enabled/disabled if someone happens to be a Prefect or the like.

I just wondered why for one, the library is located on the 4th floor? Was it not actually located on the first floor? Also, where is the One-Eyed Witch corridor, that is supposed to be on the third floor? was just about to go start an RP in the One-Eyed Witch corridor, only to realize you have none listed. Allow us to take lessons from new instructors despite even if we have already completed the previous one

Instructors come and go when it comes to WoX in general, whenever it comes to real-life or other situations. This allows for a flow of new instructors to bring their own special ideas and creative writing to the site and to their lessons. It’s a joy to be a new student, opening up the lesson for the first time, to find coursework that is written with care. However, for some students who are higher years and have already done the lesson from the previous teacher, they have to either made a new character, or simply accept that they cannot do the lesson, because you can only do one W1Y1 ever on your account. It’s rough for people who get attached to their characters, like I do. If I see an assignment I like, but I have already completed the class because of another instructor, I am unable to take the class. And that sucks D: I don’t want to make a new account to write homework with a camper that I am not invested or attached to. There are certain things that make my character special and lets them resonate more with the assignment than another I made on a whim for a specific course. As a member of WoX for almost a decade, I am more academically-driven on the site than roleplay-focused. I love doing homework, and I love grading, and most importantly I love character-building through the lessons I take. I don’t like the idea of having to abandon an account due to the fact that there are no more classes to take. So here is what I am suggesting: - Students should be allowed to take a class on a replaced lesson that they have already completed and submit it. (Ex: You have taken Y4W5 written by Instructor A, but you also are able to take Y4W5 written by Instructor B after the old one is replaced) - This would overwrite the previous lesson submission (what you view when you open up the lesson), and if you don’t copy and keep the lesson that is going to be replaced, that is on you. - The first grade (Godly, Divine, etc) will be archived next to the second assignment’s new grade as a small letter, so that a student cannot do-over a bad grade if they have failed to achieve Okay or better on all their 1st - 5th year assignments for the status, as this would be unfair to those who have already gotten the status reward. - This mechanic already somewhat exists, as you are able to take exams you have already passed over again in the next year, even if they got replaced by another Instructor Explaining it clearer: - Student as a 1st year takes course in IG Y4 of the site for the Y1W1 lesson. - They write the homework and get a Godly. - Student’s best friend becomes an Instructor in Y5. - New Instructor writes a new Y1W1 lesson. - Student, now a 3rd year, wants to take their friends Y1W1 lesson but they cannot, because they took it for the Old Instructor. With the new feature: - Student is able to take their friend’s lesson without having to make a new account. - The lesson on the page, when submitted has a white G next to the new assignment submitted, showing that they got a Godly on the first assignment. - The old assignment submission for the Old Instructor’s lesson is deleted upon submitting the new assignment. It is up to the student to make sure they save this homework submission as well as the previous gradings through copy paste or screenshot. - When the new assignment is graded, the same number of points and drachma are given as they would be from an ordinary grade - The old assignment’s gradings in Your Homework disappear, but the lesson name now has a white G next to the title, showing that they had gotten a Godly originally on the first lesson for W1Y1

friendship books

Friendship books are currently all the rage on WoPDE, and someone suggested whether we could add them to WoP as a function It could work like the Potions Book in the Potions Room. Any user can suggest an entry for another user, who can then accept or decline it (to prevent abuse). (Or even a completely different system! Perhaps a sort of ‘personal forum’ on the profile page?) A friendship book page like this could include various details, for example: Name, nickname, hobbies, likes/dislikes, photo, quote, wishes for you ... But also a selection of questions to answer. Perhaps a maximum of 5–10 in addition to the points above? (fav. food, animal, subject, ... you in 10 years, ...) 🤔 This could strengthen the community's playful aspect and encourage social interaction by leading to more positive, constructive posts. You could include inside jokes and build a sense of togetherness. In difficult times, you could look back at these entries and perhaps find comfort in them. If you ever need to write a post about that person, this could serve as a starting point (icebreaker) To prevent spam or inappropriate posts, there should be a moderation guideline, or the recipient has to accept the entry!) A friendship book like this could also be integrated well for events or challenges. Or you could award house points or XP for every entry submitted. Overall, this could be a fun addition that users would welcome. 😊

Completed Courses Must be Renewed By Teachers

In the job description, it is said that teachers must make one lesson per week. However, for teachers that have completed all their lessons, their position has become nothing more than a seat to recline in until they get bored. They refrain from replacing their lessons, one lesson per week, and are allowed to hold the position by doing nothing but the additional complaint. Even if they have completed their lessons, the rule still holds: “One lesson per week” It says nowhere in the rules that once their lessons are done, it is done, and they never have to do anything ever again. When I came back here after four years, there were classes that had not changed a single bit since my departure. This, I believe is very lazy and it shows a lack of care for the position they are in or the students they teach. Mainly because: It does not encourage the flow of creativity from writers. It does not allow graduated students’ alts to take different lessons, and they repeat the same assignments they did seven years ago. When a person who is on hiatus returns, they are greeted with the same classes. It does not allow new people to take the post with their own ideas and concepts. It allows some teachers to have more than two grad jobs. It feels lazy. It does not allow variety in lessons. It makes us have to wait until the teaching chair they sit in becomes uncomfortable and they finally let someone else have the job. My Personal Preference: I have been doing the same lessons for four years on a variety of classes until I have basically memorized the questions and the stories. I would like to see that change. I would like teachers with completed classes to be held to the same standards as newer teachers who are still making one lesson per week and be required to replace their old lessons with new ones.
